VoiceXML Integration with sipX

In an effort to help lead open source industry work in developing low-cost, high-quality telephony systems, Lance Technologies will be contributing extensively to SIPfoundry, an international open source community dedicated to accelerating the adoption of SIP based VoIP solutions.

By integrating VoiceXML with sipX, Lance Technologies will help deliver a powerful voice platform comparable to leading commercial solutions. VoiceXML integration into sipX will provide great benefits over legacy interactive voice response systems by delivering:

• The ability to use any web scripting language to build complex voice applications
• Ability to build voice applications significantly faster than using legacy IVR
• Ability to elegantly integrate voice systems with backend information systems
• Ability to enable distributed application design by separating each application’s user interaction layer from its service logic

VoiceXML integration will increase the ability of sipX to compete with commercial solutions by subscribing to a widely-adopted standard.
