Lance Tech shortlists alongside Oracle, SAP at Addis Ababa University
Addis Ababa University, based in Ethiopia's capital, is one of the largest higher education institutions in Africa. As AAU moves to utilize technology to streamline the delivery of education to its over 50,000 students, it evaluated proposals for a course management system from multiple vendors. Lance Technologies is proud to announce that in an arena filled with large competitor firms from multiple countries, its solution - Synapse - has made the Final Five list alongside solutions from behemoths such as Oracle and SAP. "It is a continuing validation of our approach of delivering highly-targeted software at a competitive price point," states Akash Desai, VP of Business Development at Lance Technologies. The Synapse course management system is highly desirable because with the one-time purchase of its license, it allows institutions full access to the source code. For an African university with many challenges to allocate resources to, this means that the software can be localized and modified over time through its own internal departments, thereby reducing the long-term total cost of ownership. |
